Volunteers with anxiety disorder will participate in a 10-minute task in which a computer program would randomly select one graphic image from a wide variety of images representing accidents, phobias, tragedies and stressful situations. The subjects will be asked to observe the image on the computer screen and exhale through pursed lips as they would see the image fade away in accordance to their exhalation. During inhalation the image will be replaced by another one. The subject will be asked to play this game using Breathing+ for 10 minutes each day for 30 days. The subjects anxiety will be assessed ususing the Hamilton anxiety scale three times during the experiment (Hamilton 1959); before the first breathing session, after 14 days and after 30 days. Breathing+ USB is required to participate in this trial. Sign up (provide your age, male/female and medical history) here: trials@pursed-lips.com

This application will help you fall sleep easily and sleep better. It teaches you to close your eyes when your nervous system is in the most parasympathetic activity. The act of closing eyes thus creates a psychological anchor, that helps your body preserve this parasympatehtic activity during night resulting in a deeper sleep.

In this simple game your PLB exhalation will trigger a relaxing sound of gong. It teaches your nervous system to keep its efferent activity (positive pressure exhalation which occurs during PLB) while being able to perceive new stimuli such as a sound of gong. It is a crucial step in developing a calm and assertive personality as well as in learning to speak without stuttering or learning to sing on pitch. Play this game here. You need to purchase Breathing+ USB to play this game.

Your endocrine glands (or chakras) are merely organs with a capability to secret hormons – chemicals that are able to interact with other organs in the body. Unfortunately your endocrine glands are being suppressed when you are under stress or anxious. Fortunately you can modulate their activity using PLB.

By simultaneously focusing on your endocrine glands and performing PLB you train your nervous system to strengthen its parasympathetic tone when specific gland is activated. It is a crucial step in strengthening your digestive and immune systems and developing an open and healthy personality. Play this game here. You need to purchase Breathing+ USB to play this game.

Do you have any memories that make you anxious? These memories have been conditioned by sympathetic activity of your nervous system so strongly that merely remembering them feeds back to your autonomous nervous system and triggers a fight or flight response. Use our Phobia Management App to upload any uncomfortable image and recondition it to parasympathetic activity using PLB. You can even use URL of images from web. Its simple and it’s super fun!

Try it yourself, imagine any visual image that makes you anxious and simultaneously exhale like you would want to blow a candle. Exhale as much as possible while simultaneously visualizing that visual in your mind. Your brain now conditions this visual stimulus with the parasympathetic tone that is being induced by neurons in the brainstem. The next time you are confronted with this visual stimuli, your brain will trigger the parasympathetic tone as it was conditioned by the above experiment consequently slowing heart, relaxing muscles and promoting digestion. If you reverse this experiment, imagine the same visual and try inhaling simultaneously you would condition a sympathetic arousal similar to a Fight and Flight response and if repeated it would escalate towards a panic attack.

Pursed Lips Breathing (PLB) can be used to recondition physiological responses of stressfull memories from inhaling (stressful) to an exhaling (relaxing) behavioral pattern. Try it, imagine any visual image that makes you anxious (possibly your boss, coworker, ex-spouse, etc.) and simultaneously exhale like you would want to blow a candle. Blow as much air out as possible while simultaneously visualizing this image in your mind.

Your brain now conditions this visual stimulus with the parasympathetic tone that is being induced by respiratory network in the brainstem during exhalation. The next time you are confronted with this image, your brain will trigger the parasympathetic tone as it was conditioned by the above experiment consequently slowing heart, relaxing muscles and promoting digestion. If you reverse this experiment, imagine the same image and try inhaling simultaneously you would condition a sympathetic arousal similar to a fight and flight response and if repeated it would escalate towards a panic attack. Click here www.breathing-plus.com/play search for Health-Phobias and upload any stressful image (or paste URL). Play this reconditioning game for 10 minutes a day and free your heart and start living life to the fullest! You need to purchase Breathing+ USB to play this game.

Did you notice how this simple classical conditioning mechanism explains why humans get emotionally connected by the act of kissing, why they relax by the act of groaning, grunting, yawning and so forth? Join us in our research here: category/clinical-trials
